@LiquidChem sounds good, I have also been thinking of using the big monster energy drink cans. They are black on the outside and could be cut to lay flat. Thanks for the ideas.

@supergokue1 I like your attitude! Im the same way, open and needing new ideas.. im sure we can come up with something, thats one mf my main concerns, is what to line it with.. think natural, non toxic.. wont burn etc.. there are many dark minerals and metals that may work.. i was thinking about sheet aluminum the kind that is white on one side and black on the other, maybe something with a molecular bond that wont come off basically as opposed to painted on the surface.. what do you think?

@jmusulman I have not had any problem with the paint so far. But I have had more than a few people ask me if it is a good idea about the spray paint. So I thought maybe there were other things that might be worth a try. Thanks for the question

what happens to the black paint at cooking temp? Does it smell or smoke?

@LiquidChem I have often thought about trying something else. I can only think of 2 things that might work. The first would be black poster board or construction paper, the other would be to try and find some black ceramic floor tile. I am always open to any other ideas that people might come up with. Thanks

do you think it might not be a good idea to be eating something that you baked inside that was painted with spraypaint =(chemicals) ? im just thinking about it, Im not sure I would feel safe eating something cooked inside spraypainted surfaces.

nice vid, i was thinking about the inside box you could try aluminum on the whole inside and maybe a piece of two-way mirror instead of the glass to let sunlight in but not out. Of course that might be more expensive i’m not sure how much two-way mirrors would cost. Just a thought I believe might have been worth sharing.

I thought spray paint produces vapors when heated up? Personally, I’d advise you looking up the MSDS sheet for the paint you used first, before cooking. Better safe than sorry.
And I am wondering if you absolutely need a plate of glass on top for the cooking. That also seems dangerous, and not because of a fire hazard with the cardboard.
From my POV, it’s an accident ready to happen.
Aside from that, I love these DIY vids.
Thanks
