Moving to Portugal, Albufeira in a few months, know any websites where I can look for jobs and apartments?

Hi

Here is a suggestion:

http://algarve.angloinfo.com/

I hope you find this useful.

All the best

Where would it be best to holiday – Albufeira, Lagos or Vilamoura?

Posted by admin in albufeira on 01 7th, 2010

Me. my bf and mates want to go somewhere with a good night life, beaches, waterparks, good shopping, local history, etc. And sunny!

I would have thought Albuferia for night life etc Lagos is smaller but quite with it. Vilamoura has a big golf complex

I would like to work in faro.Is it the same ,being english as it would be in albufeira.in.hotels ,bars etc?

Posted by admin in albufeira on 01 4th, 2010

I realise that albufeira has more tourist orientated jobs but faro sounds much nicer(correct me if im wrong).also are there as many appartments for sale in faro? thanks

Hi,
have you considered Lagos- you could probably still find a job there as it is popular with tourists but, in my opinion, it has a lot more charm and character than Albufeira and a good mix of Portuguese and ex-pats. I’d have to agree with some of the others about Faro- the historic centre is nice but the suburbs are a bit depressing. If you’re interested in working around Vilamoura, Quartiera or Almancil then you could either live there or in some nice villages nearby like Boliqueme.
LoulĂ© is quite nice but not a great bet for English speaking jobs (although I worked there as a teacher) as there isn’t much tourist infrastructure.
If you contact me through my website http://www.portugal-sport-and-adventure.com/Portugal.html and let me know what type of work you’re looking for maybe I can keep an eye out for jobs for you.

Staying in Albufeira, Portugal for one week in early October – it it worth hiring a car?

Posted by admin in albufeira on 12 29th, 2009

Or is everything fairly accessible on foot? We’ll be staying with a young child so won’t want to be out late or anything. And does anyone know what the weather’s likely to be like?
Thanks

you do not say where you are staying, but it really is worth getting a car, as there is so much more to see, than just the normal tourist parts. have a look at albufaria.com it will give you lots of info ie weather restaurant recommendations and so on. I’m of their in three weeks cannot wait, happy hols

Albufeira? is it a good place for a stag do in June?

Posted by admin in albufeira on 12 26th, 2009

I’m looking to organise a stag do for a group of lads in there thirties.
Is this a good spot, with a varied age group out and about? Trying to find somewhere different from Benidorm! or Magaluf!

It depends what you’re looking for, if it’s just a week of drinking then I don’t think that would be the place. I think it’s quite a family friendly place.

Why don’t you go to Ibiza? The island’s got some really quiet resorts right up to really dancey/drinky places.

I am going to Albufeira Algarve in July and need transfers from the airport?

What has gone wrong with the Algarve? I have lived in Albufeira for the past ten years and it seems that there

Posted by admin in albufeira on 12 21st, 2009

are more people about in any small town in England than here. the place is dying, why?

HI!! I think the only problem with the Algarve is that it’s becoming more of a resort than a place to actually live!! you see lots of investments in hotels, golf courses, etc..but not in jobs, hospitals, education, etc, to allow people to live there. what will happen? I think that you’ll see the algarve as place where the po quadruples in the summer with lots of work and than drop the rest of the year!!
